PJ Geissinger aka Starkey recently completed his third studio album ìOrbitsî for Civil Music leaving a multi faceted, hybrid piece of work that incorporaes all current evolving electronic genres as well as heavy melodic influecnes of past, as Pitchfork put it ì classic synth-grandeurÖ.a streamlined signature sound: 8/10î.

Always the visionary, Geissinger was the first American to bring ìdubstepî and grime to its shores, and this hunger for future sounds translates through his continual quest to push his own boundaries and forge new ones, never being constrained by genre or style.
Supported by Radio heavyweights Mista Jamm, Annie Mac and Skream & Benga who continually play the Philadelphians output, along with the approval from key electronic artists such as Flying Lotus, Amon Tobin or Kode 9 the broad wide range of appeal for Geissingers colourful compositions is easy to see. His first ever release appeared on Actresses imprint ìWerk Discsî and Geissinger went on to release with other seminal electronic labels Planet Mu and Ninjatune.

Starkey has worked with many underground artists, helping them into the limelight through his own imprints Seclusiasis and Slit jockey, yet still twists his hand to mainstream collaboration with artists such as Tinie Tempah, Maverick Sabre and industry luminaries and hit makers Guy Sigsworth and Fraser T Smith.

Geissinger is currently at a cross roads with his sound after exploring the depths of dubstep, grime, crunk and trap. His continued love for classical music and mainstream hip hop provide the basis for his explorations and its this which keeps him in the running for mainstream attention, but his own unique take on all things electronic are what also keep him on the edges of this sonic spectrum ..2013 looks to be a year where Starkey finds his true sound to pursue and finally filter it into the mainstream music world.
